I make my own stock and I'm not sure how to work out the calories so I can log it on MFP.
It's usally chicken - I simmer the bones with vegetables and peppercorns, strain, reduce, and freeze. I also sometimes make stock with beef bones, duck, or vegetarian versions. I always skim off any fat.
Any ideas?

I'd suggest using the nutritional info for a comparable store-bought brand of stock. I'm sure the difference isn't that great (and the calorie "counter" tool on here is really just a calorie estimator anyway), so you'll probably get close enough. I make my own stock as well, and I've found this technique to be just fine for entering recipes on MFP. Good to hear that someone else makes their own!0

I have had to do the same thing. Unfortunately I can't find the information on the calories and such for what you would extract from bones.0

Yes I suppose the calories won't be far off. I do like to keep an eye on my sodium intake as well though, and the store bought stock is always stiff with it, whereas I add no salt when making my own.0
