One month in, first post (i think)

When i signed up for this site, i was hesitant to post anything because i wasn't sure i'd stay long enough. Fact is, i used this site the first two weeks of january a lot, and lost significant weight then, then i used it less and i lost less, so i came back. It's working f or me - even if i am focusing more on body fat % than actual weight changes. My scale/body fat readings come directly from a FitBit Aria scale which is linked to this site.

I am from Long Island, NY - got a lot of exercise today just shoveling snow. Not sure how much of a regular i'll be, but i figure it makes sense to post an 'intro' message in this forum.

I don't know if my profile is visible, but i just finished filling all that stuff out.

I've got no "friends" on this website, so i only see my information in the feed, but i think it would be more motivating to see other people's progress along the way.

I don't always log my food, though i did today so far. My steps/calories come from a link to my fitbit step counter (i have an older model "ultra" which they don't make anymore).

    Hi Rob .........Welcome back to MFP... I myself just came back this Jan .... I had lost 78lbs back in 09/2010 but I let tragic things and life in general get in the way ...but at least I came back and this time I have more willpower and more of a positive attitude ....wishing you much success ....     Hi Rob, newbie here myself though my weight is in a good place imho. Yes, I can see your profile but your diary is not open to all. I joined in Nov 12 and time away meant I've skipped several weeks of logging.

    Since I joined I've got my BF from 23.4% to 15% (currently 15.9%) however just use the calipers above my hip so not sure if it's wholly accurate? Net loss of 12lb (-15.5 fat +3.5 LBM).

    If being here and logging helps your weight loss/BF reduction then heck, stay a while, log and chat and become healthier :) Feel free to add me if you like but then you'd get to see my alcohol intake!
  • Yes, life does sometimes get in the way -- but one thing about having lost a similar amount of weight for me: It's motivating me now to realize if i did it before i should be able to do it again.

    Hey,

    I got off to a great start on here but then thing slowed down a bit. I think it works though. Once you get over the first couple of weeks of logging it get a lot easier. You'll find that you eat a lot of the same stuff.

    Hi everyone I have been logging on this site for a month now, and i have lost 5 lbs. But over the last year I have lost over 30 lbs. I am starting to get tired of being so good, and this weekend I have been very very bad. Maybe writing this down will help me get back on track. This is my confession.
