Hasn't killed me yet. If I get into a second pot I do try to make it weaker than the first one, though.0

I know that coffee dehydrates you and that you need to up your water intake. I also know that the caffeine, even it you are used to it can cause sleep deprivation which can effect your weight loss when you don't sleep well.0

Hahaha coffee IS awesome0 -
I too love coffee! Too much caffiene is not so good for you though. Also if you are a light and sweet kinda person, than thatll be alot of sugar.0

Don't worry about the dehydration myth - you gain more hydration from it than the caffeine can possibly deplete! I mainly drink decaff now, but that's because it's my normal drink, and I (apparently) get *really* tetchy on 10 mugs of strong coffee a day. Or so my husband tells me0

I drink 3-4 cups a day due to 3rd shift.0

3 cups a day is the recommended amount . I drink a lot more then that too.0

I love coffee, I prefer either espresso or french press coffee and I drink it black. It's about 2 calories per cup and obviously, caffeine amounts can vary by cup. I have ADHD and am not currently medicated (I really need to make that appointment so I can get back on meds) so I MUST have coffee!! (I would prefer it by IV drip but I haven't found a doctor willing to set me up with the supplies.)0

All the studies about coffee are not entirely solid but the common consensus is its ok unless you are drinking more than 8 cups a day. So limit your coffee intake to 8 cups a day. Less or consult your doctor if you experience heart palpitations, diaphoresis (sweating), or if you were diagnosed with moderate to severe hypertension, and/or cardiovascular disease.0

is it instant or beans? AFAIK you can drink more instant because it's not really coffee in the same way as proper coffee brewed from beans.
If i have more than two proper coffees a day i can't sleep. I can't drink instant at all, it tastes terrible - but some people can go through litres of it a day with very little effect0 -
Coffee is the nectar of the gods. As long as you're not twitching and shaking uncontrollably, I say you're fine. But, I'm barely medically qualified to put on a band aid, so my opinions are sadly lacking in factual basis (aside from personal experience).0

Two cups a day is suppose to be good for you. I drink a lot,it gets me through the day.0

Thanks guys, glad it's not as bad as I thought it was! No way I could give up my daily fuel0

The only health risk of caffeinated coffee that I know of is raised blood pressure. Recent studies have shown it to possibly be beneficial in several aspects:
From Webmd: http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/coffee-new-health-food
"A growing body of research shows that coffee drinkers, compared to nondrinkers, are:
* less likely to have type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and dementia
* have fewer cases of certain cancers, heart rhythm problems, and strokes"0
