The way I look in clothes...my epiphiany

So we all know that sometimes we feel like we look stellar in clothes, and other times not so much. Well I've been feeling a little blue after seeing myself in an outfit I recently bought. I try *everything* on at the store before I buy it because I hate getting stuff home and it not looking right just as much as the next chick.
My epiphany came when I was wondering 'why did this look so cute in the store but not now?'...and then I remembered; I tried on boots with that outfit! That outfit looked super cute when I wore knew high black boots with it. Now I could sit here and sulk about how I want the outfit to look cute without the boots and how big my thighs look without them, and that the boots make or break the outfit because they make my legs look smaller...or I could put the damn boots on and rock that outfit.
How about this: the next time you're mad about some outfit like that, instead of talking about how fat you look or how you wish you were smaller and your unsatisfied because you're not at goal yet, do this instead: find a way to make that outfit work for your and your body shape, or get rid of the outfit and replace it with one that does. If you have hips and you buy an outfit that looked good on a boxy, skinny manaquin don't be mad that outfit doesn't look good on you too. Go find an outfit that looks good on your body shape and size. You wouldn't buy a size small belly shirt if your a size large with a belly, so why try to wear pants that only flatter girls without hips and beat yourself up over not looking good in them or vice versa.
Make your clothes flatter you, not the other way around. Time to go put on my boots

Loved your epiphany. Your point, though, was well said.
I recently went through my wardrobe and tried on everything I owned. What didn't look good or was out of style, I bagged to drop in the donation box at my grocery store.
Now that I'm feeling confident in the way I look, too, it gives me confidence to step out of the box a little when shopping.0 -
^^^ we should all do this occasionally and good for you for doing it! When we lose weight our body's and style can change and we just need to learn to dress for it. When I'm bigger Im ok with wearing tight skinny jeans but for some reason when I'm smaller I like looser clothes and that style. We deserve to feel confident with how we look, regardless of our size0

When I was skinny I often hid myself in baggy clothes because I wasn't comfortable with myself. I was afraid I'd sit or move wrong and a roll would form or a bit of hip would show. I wanted to be rail thin, not curvy.
Not anymore. I'm going to flaunt my figure. I just need to find some tops that fit right since I'm still a D cup. It's going to be a learning process for sure. But if it comes down to wearing something that fits like a sack or having the girls all obvious and sticking out, I'll pick showing off the girls and let people stare. I worked too hard for this body to hide it.
The current fashion doesn't help. The stores are full of shirts right now that look like maternity shirts, loose and flowing or worse loose and flowing and then gathered at the thigh, which makes me look horrible. I'm not going anywhere near that look. It's awful on me and on just about everyone who isn't 110 pounds and six feet tall.
*very belated edit* and the more I look at the shirt in my profile pic, the more I think it's too loose as well!0
