strange question/rant

I get this with a lot of other "friends" (really just acquaintances, i suppose)- they're on a diet/fitness journey. Yay! So am I, and i really love to discuss it. I find it helpful knowing that others are in the same process.
What I don't love is, if the person happens to be heavier than me, I tend to (not all the time) get attitude from them. I have 30ish pounds to lose...these are people who are 50+lbs over, but (and this is the common trend between them) none of them want to lose more than 30. Their choice, their body, i say nothing about that...ALL i talk about is how i want to be in "normal weight range". This is when they get the attitude, and I hear snarky comments when i see/talk to them.
"How much have you lost?"
"eh, I'm losing slowly...not sure why, but im losing some, at least."
"I'VE lost 10, only have 10 more to go, and i havent even tried." Extra points if they look me up and down with a smirk. The BEST comment came a week ago, from a girl who outweighs me by at least 25lbs- "I guess I just have a faster metabolism than you." I actually had to bite a *****y, "Then why are you fatter than me, by a LOT, and likely always will be, even when im my heaviest?" But, I just walked away.
Does anyone else get this, or do people just feel they can say anything rude to me alone?

Oh I totally sympathize! I HATE dealing with some people when it comes to this kind of thing. I've lost 40lbs over a six month period and worked my *kitten* off for it. I know someone who lost 15lbs in two weeks (she's about double what she should weigh) and all off a sudden I suck because she loses weight so much more quickly....well sometimes I just want to explode and explain that I did not start out at double my ideal body weight and therefore cutting down my calories slightly would not make me lose my weight "as quickly" as her. My favorite though is when everyone changes their "healthy weight range" to fit their lifestyle. I'm sorry, but healthy is healthy and just because you've never been "healthy" doesnt mean you cant work your butt off and get there. I am happy for people who have lots to lose and lose it the right way, but when we're the same height and you're double my weight that doesn't mean all of a sudden the "healthy" range goes up 50lbs.....rant over (let the hating begin..._)0

I'm damned proud of my weight loss and I'm pretty competitive, but I don't begrudge others losing faster or more than I have. I have a co-worker who has lost as much weight as me, with the help of bariatric surgery, and I feel no ill will toward her. She was and remains much heavier but she's making great progress. I will say that I have lost weight rapidly and I "win" most weight loss comparisons and I do think it is different to lose large amounts of weight without surgery or pills, but whatever makes people happy with their body is fine with me.0
