Hey, I'm about your height (5' 9.5") and I'm somewhere in the size 8-10 range in pants depending on brand and style. My hips are about 38", and my thighs are 22". These days I'm wearing more 8s than 10s, but that has more to do with how they fit in the waist, I think. Every fraction of an inch that comes off my hips/thighs has been a huge struggle!

Hi All, I am struggling with losing inches from my hips. My hip width is a 45 (i think), I wear 13/14 and I'm 5'9. I would love to be a size 10. I'm just trying to get an idea of how many more inches and/or pounds I need to lose......

Also my thighs are huge 26 inches

I haven't measured my thighs, but we're almost hip twins. Lol
My goal is single digit sizes.

Can I ask your thigh width? I have 36" hips but can't get size 6 past my thighs (21"). I'm amazed/envious of your size 2 lol.

My thighs are: 19.75" right and 19.5" left

ETA: my hips measurement is the widest part of my butt, not sure if it makes a difference. Looked back at my measurements: 4/23/12 - 35.5", and 1/23/12 - 36.5". I wore the same jeans though.

That is also where I measure mine. I am a size 8 in Hollister, American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, Gap, and Levi Low Rise. I wonder what size I would be if I bought brand more aimed at adult women? I have been buying jeans second hand as I lose weight for financial reasons lol.

That's so strange. I wear mostly AE for jeans, and they are size 2 except for one size 4. I have a pair of Hollister in size 3. I don't bother with Gap because 2 are usually big on me.

But let me tell you. A 12 fits comfortably around my waist but because my thighs & legs are slimmer they have so much room in that area that they make me look like I have diaper butt. I just don't want to go down another size because other wise I will look like I have a muffin top lol. Either way I can't win.

I have so many size pants because I have been pregnant 6 times. I know that my hips get up to 40-41" and that put me into a size 8-10. So, I would think if you could get your hips down to 40", that should be a size 10.

    Now, I am:
    5'4.5"
    126 lbs
    Hips 35.25"
    Thighs 20.25"
    American Eagle Jeans Size 4.
    Old Navy shorts Size 2

See, I think that I should have tried on Size 2 in AE, but I was so thrilled with my 4s, that I stopped and bought them. But, they get loose on me in just a coulpe of minutes.

Just measured yesterday - 36" around the hip, pants size 4-6(depending on manufacturer), 5'5". Although I didn't take measurements when I joined up at MFP here in early May, I do compare to measurements taken a couple of months before that. I've lost close to an inch in my hips, and almost that my waist too. No appreciable weight loss right now, in fact I regained the 2 pounds I had lost. But my body must be shifting anyway, which is what counts after a certain point.

Last time I measured myself was in February.

    5' 11"
    Hips: 40 inches
    Thighs: 20
    Size: 12

I'm aiming for 35-36 inch hips and a size 6. I know it's possible because I was there just a few years ago before I crapped it away with laziness.

Hourglass shape. Wide hips but not a lot of junk in the trunk...which translates to droopy butt in most of my pants. ;)

I don't know if I'm measuring wrong or what, but here are my stats:

    5'8"
    124 lbs
    hips: 37"
pants: 2 (very occasionally I fit better into 4s, but that's rare)

A lot of other girls on here have similar stats (or even narrower hips), but wear like 6, 8, or 10. Seriously, am I measuring my hips wrong??

Oh, man, I struggle with those areas, as well. Lately, especially, I've been bummed out because though I've gained lean mass (and lbs, obviously) and lost 7% body fat, all my measurements have gone up... Except my height. Why can't I gain weight and grow taller?

    Height: 5'1"
    Weight: 120-125ish?
    BF%: 20
    Hips: 32
    Butt: 36
    Thighs: 22
Pants: 3/4 in juniors (I'm shoooorttt, remember?)

I'd love to lose about 2 inches from all those measurements, please.
