Hello! I've dined out and ordered so many takeaways lately that i'm starting to be unable to bear the thought of one more. I like this fact though, usually i'd be craving more and more. Anyway, seeing as i'm in this mindset, and the fact i'm not happy with my body, i have decided it's time to try and lose a bit of weight. I'm unsure really about how much i want to lose yet, but let's just say ultimately i'd like to be a size 12 again (currently a size 14) but goals aside, i just want to start eating healthier, exercise more, and hopefully lose weight.
Here's my issue. I don't really know what foods you should steer clear of on a diet, because i'm not really used to dieting. I'd love it if anyone could just let me know what foods i should avoid and what foods i should be eating. That would be a huge help to me. I'm quite a fussy eater aswell, so it's awkward sometimes.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, and i hope i keep this up
edit: Also, how much should i be exercising exactly? I have no idea. Totally useless at this. Should i be burning more calories than i intake?

First, getting and staying at a healthy weight is not a diet. It's a lifestyle.
Start small so you don't set yourself up for failure. For example, start by switching white bread and such for whole grain bread, pasta, etc.
And it's great that you've started on here because writing down every crumb you eat will help you immensely. I used to eat because something was in front of me. Now, if I make cookies or even homemade granola bars, I put them where I cannot see them (usually the freezer).

Hello there,
Understand and I have learned so MUCH in the last week just using the MFP. I had no idea what I was putting into my body and the silly calories, fat and sodium on everyday foods. Feel free to add me as I am learning as well. Would love to follow your journey and experiences. Myself....I would like to hear no recipes or ideas if you come across them. I eat a lot of the same stuff and getting bored. Welcome!!!!!!!! Vince0 -
Thanks guys yeah i'd love to change the way i eat in general tbh, i'm absolutely ridiculous, sometimes i dont even eat actual meals, i just eat junk food throughout the day. I'm sick of it now, i feel like i'd be a lot happier with eating better. Yeah i remembered about this website earlier and actually joined up this time, i love the way you can record what you've eaten, and the exercise you've done!
And thanks, i will check out the links you've provided I think aswell i need to start trying new foods. I eat the same frozen food, packet rubbish all the time, and i want to broaded my horizons a bit, and hopefully learn to enjoy healthier foods. I do really like salads, so that is a start i suppose ha!
Also, gonna wipe the dust off my fitness dvd's. Too poor to afford a gym membership atm, so i'm gonna combine those with regular exercise paha.0
