Best time of day to work out.

I work crazy hours and have noticed that most do in the morning. This week I will be working lots of early morning shifts and won't be able to work out till later at night for scheduling reasons. Do you think this will keep me up all night?

When I work out, it's usually in the evening/after work. I'm not a morning person, at all.
  • You should work out what ever time of day you can fit it in, and feel the most energetic / motivated.

Studies have shown that people who work out early in the morning are more consistant than those work out at other times in the day, mostly because life is less likely to get in your way. I can't drag my *kitten* out of bed to work out, so that doesn't work for me.

You should get your workout in at least 2 hours before bedtime to avoid messing with your sleep.

There is no correlation to a particular workout time being more effective

I worked out at 1:30 am and afterwards jumped in the shower and fell fast asleep. You have to do what works best for you!! Good Luck!
