I just started Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and I like that because it's only a 20 minute workout. I have an 8 month old and I can usually get her to play with her toys next to me while I do that. Of course, I do have to take breaks and get her if she wanders off somewhere0

I am a mother of a one year old and I found that I have to leave my working out to evening after she goes to bed. If it is nice out I try to have hubby watch here while I take a quick walk outside. The fresh air does me some good but living in NE is hard since you never know what each day is going to be. Good luck and I hope you find a way to get your exercise in.0

My son doesn't go to bed until midnight or earliest 11...lol0

I have a 6 month old and i just put her in her swing for the 30 minutes i workout. she has toys and things that keep her busy. And if yours naps several times a day, you could use one of those naptimes to workout and then next time he naps take a nap with him.0

With my first, I just incorporated him into my workouts. I put him in a snug carrier and did squats and lunges. We went for lots of walks. During his tummy time or floor time on a playmat, I would get down on the floor and do some floor exercises. It is when they get super mobile that that stuff gets harder, lol. I lost 25lbs that way... and then got pregnant with the second one!0

Eeeek why does he go to bed so late? My youngest is 8 months and I also have two others. I usually exercise while she is napping but if that is not an option for you I would put him in a swing, or bouncer. Do you have a jumperoo or exersaucer? Even a playmat on the floor next to you. Even if you stay awake during one of his naps and try to exercise it might really help out, give you some energy and help you get through the rest of the day.0

All babies are different. He is a night hawk baby since he was born. We do a bedtime routine, of bath, book, night lunch, but usually earliest bedtime is 10 oclock, but most times midnight ,sleeps until 10am either way. But both his father and I were the same lol according to both our moms. He has an exersaucer he just got it this week, so am going to attempt that while doing maybe quick exercises:)0 -
since he sleeps until 10 do your workout before he gets up. My boys are older - 6.5 and 3 but have always been early risers. so I run after they're in bed.occasionally i get up at 4:30, but that's very rare lol0

My little girl is three now, but when she was little I did a workout similar to this that I was taught in a class:

Think of your little guy as a weight, and they LOVE it. My daughter would giggle the whole time, and it was an insane workout because she was a "solid" (read, HEAVY!) baby.
Edit to add that this one doesn't have my favorite, which included lifting the baby up and down as you did squats. Talk about a workout!0 -
I have two children, a 3 year old and a 10 month old. I feel you. I work full time and I exercise an hour a day, 6 days a week, I find the time by doing it either before they wake up in the AM or when they are in bed. Feel free to add me if you need some motivation.0

My first baby went to bed that late too! Once I had my second, I had my youngest going to bed earlier to match the bedtime of my younger one. lol0 -
The way I did it when mine was that age:
I would put her in a swing, and have her watch me do zumba. She loved the music and was highly entertained by seeing me shake it! Good luck!0 -

Glad I'm not the only one. :laugh:0 -
A lot of it just depends on your baby. My kids are now 11 months and 2 years (26 months) and my workouts were really different with each.
My oldest didn't sleep or nap well due to severe acid reflux and he would cry without constant attention. All workouts were done when my husband was home. We ended up buying a jogging stroller so we could run together.
My youngest is a totally different story. She is content playing by herself for 30 minutes and I can workout with her awake. I did 30 day shred or really any other 30 or less minute workout I could find on YouTube. When it is nice out (I live in Michigan so that is like 3 months a year) I walk 2-3 miles with the kids in the stroller. According to my HRM, I burn way more cals pushing that double stroller so even walking is a decent workout.0 -
Find a way to make your child go to sleep earlier.. at 5 months, your child still must nap a lot compared to an 11 or 12 month old who may nap only once in a day.
30 Day Shred is great. 20 minutes a day and all parts of this workout are on Youtube. Check my avatar, results from Jan 1 to Feb 9 - it really works.
If a working mom with two children (one special needs) can do it, so can you. No excuses, just do it!0
