I had to laugh a little bit, because I didnt realize until my recent research..that size does matter in calorie counting.>LOL

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing but did not want to appear ungentlemanly. :noway:

I just guess.. =p I usually say 'large'. I don't measure them... but if I did I would go along the curve.

I just went and looked up banana and jeeezemoss there are a lot of different calorie/size options. So I would cut it up and weigh it. I LOVE my food scale!!

Didn't you see the "coconut oil" thread? Putting food anywhere but your mouth doesn't need to be tracked.

But we're not talking about food, we're talking about bananas!

Make sure it didn't just come out of the pool.

  • Thanks (to some of you) for your suggestions. I do weigh when I'm at home, but when I take it to work for my snack I don't want to peel it beforehand. I will just go with my gut.

Slap it on the desk. Does it make a deep "tooong" or a wimpy "ting".

I guesstimate, but unless it is a real outlier, I usually go with medium.

I really wouldn't sweat it too much. No one gets or stays overweight because of an extra couple of bites of a banana.

    yep. This.
  • As other have said, weigh it.

All the jokes I was going to make were already made - This thread made my morning..lol.

I usually just eye-ball it, and pick the appropriate size. Mostly because of the reason you listed, I'm not home normally when I eat them (or other fruit for that matter) so its not really an option to weigh it.

    Good luck!

Oh and a good guestimate should do it!

    or
    is it cold? =small
    Is it ...nyah =medium
Is it pleased to see you? = large

Large or small, I just enjoy watching a woman eat a banana.

Sorry, this was just too easy.
  • What a dumb reply.

peel the banana and place whole in mouth, if you gag, it's large, if you feel the urge to gag but resist it...here's my number 867-5309

I can't believe people actually get out a measure tape and measure a banana :open_mouth: and then sweat over the inner outer curve and .555676977 of an inch. Seriously??
