new at Strength Training & free weights

I have a set of weights at home collecting dust  I have lost 23 lbs but was mostly doing cardio during my lunch hr and in the evenings, along with Kickboxing. I have 3 children at home so I was thinking to burn more cals I should finally attempt to bust out those weights :blushing: although I dont know the first thing about weight lifting. I also hit plateau, been stuck at the same number for 4 weeks going on 5. I read everywhere that weight lifting would help along with a low carb diet.
Anyways any suggestions would be greatly appreciated PLEASE HELP

Are you wanting a DVD program?
If so, I loved ChaLean Extreme and am currently doing P90X and saw results.
I also have heard the New Rules of Lifting for Women is awesome, I have download the book on my Kindle but haven't read it yet as I'm in the middle of my P90X program.

Hold weights while kickboxing, maybe even just some ankle weights. It would change things up a bit at least.

I hear starting strength stronglifts 5x5 and new rules of lifting for women are great beginner programs. All these programs focus on compound and full body lifts; you'll maximize your results and minimize time with these. I've not done any of them but I read NROLFW and it had some good info. You will NOT regret lifting. It's the best body changer there is!
