I'm going out with my in-laws tonight to a local Mexican restaurant. Is there anything I can get and still stay in a healthy range with not a lot of fat in it? Also how do I go about logging this into my food database?

skip the chips and salsa!
Go for fajitas and skip the tortilla, just eat the meat and veggies, can even pour salsa on them for added flavor0 -
Dude, I know it hurts...but say no to the chips and salsa. They always bring them out and before you know it, you've eaten the whole basket!
I would order something that's easy to log, like chicken tacos or something...or a filet of baked chicken. Depends on how many calories you want to eat during this outing.
Before I go for Mexican food, I also usually exercise0 -
Cool, I'm totally gonna be skipping the chips and salsa!!!0

Ugh the chips and salsa are so good though. That's like going to olive garden and not getting the breadsticks! lol...i try to stay away..but that doesnt always work hehe0

Yes, stay away from the chips & salsa, rice, cheese, and sour cream if you can. A simple taco or two is not bad, especially if you use corn tortillas. The only issue with a fajita would be the flour tortilla. Salsa and guacamole are fine, but just don't go overboard. Avocados are considered a 'good' fat. And, you know, chicken, seafood, veggies, and beans are always good choices as well. Good luck!0

I heard that you should always ask for a to go box right when you get your food and put half of it aside for later. Later as in another day, not later that night0

I let myself have 6 chips and I break them in half (so it feels like more). HE HE
I love the salsa!0 -
Try going for a taco salad. They'll give you a choice for what kind of meat, and you can either get chicken or beans. Stick to no dressing, and use salsa instead. Or, try a hard shell taco (the corn tortilla has fiber that will help you release toxins in your body and help with digestion) with chicken or even a tostada. Those are mostly lettuce anyway. If you can bring a piece of paper, you can write all the things that were on your plate, and log them in separately, by guessing at about how much tomato, lettuce, chicken, tortillas, etc. you had.
Good luck!0 -
Thanks everyone! We're leaving now but I'll be sure to do my best and stay away form the chips LOL0
