When I'm lifting, I like something fast and angry. I usually go with metal (anything ranging from Pantera and Iron Maiden to Slayer) or punk rock (Minor Threat, Rancid, Op Ivy, US Bombs, etc.). Helps me keep the pace up.

Army marching cadences are an excellent way to start pacing yourself if you have not done much walking before. They make running cadences, too, but by the time you can run, you don't really need any help with pacing, imo.

I have a Shape Walk Plus - 80s CD that I like to listen to while walking or using the step. I also have a four volume aerobic CD that is great for walking, step, or just dancing around my living room.

Another favorite is the 80s Cardio station on Pandora. LOVE that, because I can put it on and shake my butt around the house while I do my chores.

So I wouldn't say I have a favorite workout song so much as a favorite workout decade!
