Just started weight training and have been doing it six days a week along with jogging 4 10 min miles and a few min on bike. It seems that its getting harder to do and I am wondering about cutting the weight training to every other day. I also work 6-8 hrs 5 days a week sometimes 6 days at a very busy chinese reatuarant waiting tables.

I do 3 days a week. Running 3 days a week and one day of some light cardio. I amn exercising every day but I take a rest day in between each type of activity to allow those muscles to rest/refresh. I believe that people who lift every day work on differning muscle groups to allow for rest days while continuing to work out constantly

During the off-season from Soccer, I lift 6 days a week. I break up my days into a 2-day split (Upper Body one day, abs, back and legs the other). Within those splits I break it down further and turn each into a 3 day split. For Upper Body I'll focus on biceps and triceps one day, pecs the next and shoulders the third. I still work the other upper body groups that day but not as much as the focus group. I do the same with abs, back and legs.

If you're doing full body lifting each day, it's probably a good idea not to do 6 days in a row. That can easily fall into over-training which can be counter productive. If you want to lift 6 days a week, I'd recommend doing some form of split routine.
