30-day shred - rest days?

I am planning to start 30DS this weekend. Should I plan in rest days? And if so how many? I want to decide in advance so I can't make excuses once I've started! Any advice welcome

I called the customer support number for her online workout (866-348-9729) and they said she always has at least 1 rest day a week if not two for all her programs. So, based off what she recommends for all her online workouts, they believe she would intend you have at least 1 rest day per week. Hope this helps.

I read Jillian Michaels recommendations for doing 30 Day Shred some where but now I can't find it. I am taking Sundays off. If I take more than one day off, I will not want to start again. I am also doing Shred It With Weights so I need a day of rest.

Yes. Even though the name implies that the workout is 30 days in a row, that was not the intention. Definitely take a rest day if you feel you need one. I'd also recommend making sure you have good shoes for your feet.

It's a good idea to take at least one day off every week to give your body a chance to rest. My rest day is every Saturday because I spend the whole day with my boyfriend and don't get home until too late.

Go easy on yourself if you don't workout regularly, you will be majorly sore doing the 30 day shred. If I were you I'd give myself a goal "I'm going to workout at least 4 days a week" then later change that to 5 then to 6...

as everyone has already said give yourself at least 1 rest day a week.

I am on the JM 30DS too. I'm just completed my 6th day. I went out of town this past weekend and missed two days but got right back on it Monday I see huge improvement in my endurance/stamina.

    Good luck to you!

Hanks for the good advice. I don't workout EVER so am feeling quite apprehensive! I think this is a good plan, and I will follow it.

And thank you to everyone who took the time to post - all good advice. Wish me luck!
