A place for thyroid cancer survivors

I started a group on here call Thyroid Cancer/Thyroid Issues. It's a new group just getting started for those of us facing this challenge. I'm trying to find out what works, what doesn't, and how we are all dealing with our diagnosis and "new normal" I'm hoping to see some faces join because I'm not finding a whole lot of support especially when it comes to diet/exercise to prevent weight gain and even promote weight loss in the thyroid challenged world. It's not ALL about the thyroid but some days when you feel foggy, have a rapid heart rate and the world is blurry it's hard to find that kick in the *kitten* to motivate and make the right choices. That is the reason for this group. No excuses but a way to make it through

Hi there. Great to see this group starting up. I am currently going through the thyroid cancer and hormone replacement roller coaster. Even though I already feel like I've conquered this thing, I hope to be officially called a survivor by year's end.

Wow, on a whim today I searched here for Thyroid cancer and saw your post. I am a three year Thyroid cancer survivor. I had a total thyroidectomy in 2010. And I will agree about the foggy days. I was fortunate and did not gain any weight going through the process, in fact I was easily able to loose 15 lbs right after, but now I fight fatigue a lot. My levels are pretty well managed but there are several days out of the month where I have zero energy and little motivation, just want to sleep or veg. My Endo says that's just something I have to live with to keep my levels where they need to be but any support, ideas, motivation would be greatly appreciated!
