Anyone else only need to lose around 10lb?

Hi, In my profile pic I am 12 pounds less than I am now, I wan to get back to this weight in time for my holiday in April.
I am on week 6 of 16.
I need 1700 cals a day to maintain (im 5'3") so im eating 1200 cals a day at the mo in the hope ill lose 1lb a week.
I know I need to have a deficit of 3500 cals a week to lose 1 lb a week.

Any one else already slim but have few pounds to lose?

The reason I want to lose weight is to get rid of some of the fat on my stomach, hips, thighs and chin :)

May be worth mentioning that I have a desk job and log all exercise.

Is 1lb a week reasonable? If any has done the same sort of thing when did you notice a difference?

Thanks

  • I am also looking to lose about 10 lbs by April. This is my first time really trying to track everything, so I'm not really sure how its going to go either, in the past I feel like I've lost nothing one week and 2 lbs the following. I guess it all depends on how hard you work each week. I'm kind of inconsistent, I run a lot and some days I know I need the extra calories or am just so hungry I can't help it. I tend to put on 10 lbs before winter every year and take it off again around this time.

I'm 5'4.5" and also looking at about 1200 cals a day. I think 1 lb a week is fairly reasonable, though I'm hoping to lose a little more on some weeks in which I run more. I also have a desk job but am training for a marathon in beginning of April.

    YO!!!

It's good that you want to lose weight from a number of areas!!! You're going to see ALL KINDS OF AMAZING RESULTS!!

not like those other people who try and try to shift a few pounds from just their tummy and give up after 2 weeks because they dont see the damn difference!!

    YOU HAVE A REALISTIC GOAL!!

Losing weight is a FULL BODY thing!! like a total makeover dammit!!! and you're going to do great!!!

I have a desk job too and I lose weight like it's going outta fashion!!! true story!!

If im honest - I don't even go the gym!! Cancelled my membership back in 04' and never been back since!!!! I bet if i went there tomororw the same people would be pounding on the same treadmills and looking the EXACT F*CKING SAME!!!

it's all about diet, lady!! get that in check and you have't gotta worry! some light home excerise will do, walking or something even!!

your plan sounds good to me, just stick to it and in 2 weeks you'll look like a different person!!

dont get all butt-hurt if the scale doest move straight away or the numbers dont drop as quick you'd like them too!!

take a photo log and YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

90% diet - 10% excersise - remember that *kitten* and you're going to BE DAMN STUNNING!!!!! like a f*cking movie-starr!!!

I'm on maintenance now but when I was losing, I didn't have a lot to lose. The closer you are to goal, the longer it seems to take to get there. I was on 1/2 pound a week loss. I don't think I would have liked to have been on a more restrictive 1 pound a week plan. I didn't mind that it took months to get there. I suggest lifting heavy (I lift heavy enough that I can do no more than 4 reps at a time) to help speed up your metabolism and help you build some nice definition. It doesn't take long to start seeing results from lifting. Good luck! :flowerforyou:

Lol, great, im six weeks in and tbh dont see much of a difference and no one has mentioned anything :( fair enough ive only lost 6 lb but i was slim to start with so should I not see a difference?
What exercise do you do if you dont go to the gym? My exercise routine at the mo consitis of 20-30 mins walking the dog a day. then il run with the dog say once a week for around 30 mins, then ill prob ride the horse on the weekends but because of the light I only do the stable duties during the week at the mo but this does burn a few cals... Thinking about trying to swim once a week...

Me! I have 10lbs to loose and it is very very slow and getting on the scale is very frustrating only to see it inch down and sometimes spike up for no apparant reason. I think I would have to be literally starving to lose a 1lb a week.

I have the exercise down, as I'm a distance runner, but I know my body is at its "happy weight" being 10lbs overweight, but I too would like to lose weight on my thighs, tummy, back, and hips. I know for me it is going to be a struggle to get there and will probably be a struggle to stay there. I eat NO processed foods and any of the carbs I eat are whole. My protein is high and cabs well under the reccomended amount, despite the running mileage I put in on a weekly basis.

After I had my second child, my body just wants to hang out to these 10lbs for dear life! These 10lbs for sure are very difficult to shed.

    No advice, just sympathies.

Could I ask how many cals you are eating on a daily basis?
