NSV that I'm sure everyone has

Yesterday I noticed that my jeans were getting all loose and I said to myself that I needed to wash them to get them to shrink up a bit since they are already a little big right now. Then I realized what I had just thought. It used to be the complete opposite where I dreaded washing my jeans because it would make them shrink up and then they would be too tight!
This came at the perfect time for me because for the past week my weight loss has stalled as I have ramped it up more at the gym. No matter what my co workers say about looking thinner it's what I see myself that makes me feel the best. Yes my clothes all fit a little looser because I am losing inches and not pounds as I build muscle mass but it is depressing to not see the scale change.

Good for you! My son's gf made brownies last night and I didn't even have a crumb. That is huge for me, as they are my fav!

i lost about 10 pounds, went and bought a new pair of jeans. a month later, i had to go and exchange them for the next size down due to another 5 pounds loss! all the women in the store were high-fiving me for losing 2 sizes :) it's a great feeling! keep it up!

If you are on a calorie deficit you will build little to no muscle mass. However, you said that you have ramped it up in the gym and this can cause your muscles to hold water. This is most likely the case, don't worry, in no time your body will adjust to the new, higher intensity workouts and release it. Then the scale will be on it's way down again. Good luck!

I love that switch! I have lost about 2 pounds and 2 pants sizes this month. Sometimes the scale can be slow, but it catches up eventually :-)
    Great NSV

woke up an hour and a half late yesterday and didn't have time to make breakfast. Instead of grabbing a cold slice of pizza from the kids' dinner the night before I grabbed fruit and some nuts. And i LOVE cold pizza for breakfast!

My weight has fluxed in the same 3 lb range for about a month now but I went down another size in clothes. Working out will make a big difference. When the scale doesn't move, pick up the tape measure  I bet it has :smokin:

thanks for the post...as my jeans still pull at the top of the zipper..but are fitting better..and i can't wait to be in your shoes!!! I also did not lose this week after working out like crazy...so glad to hear you are shrinking..and feel down about the stupid number on the scale like me..even though we both know it is crazy.

Good luck as you continue your fitness journey.
  • I can't wait for my pants to feel loose! What a nice feeling that must be!! Great job! Keep it up so that at some point they just fall off ya ;-)
