This is probably my last success story and I know I have posted a couple but this was also a real biggy for me.

The 32" trousers and jeans I've been wearing for the last couple of months have gradually been belt-tightened to the point it needed 5 notches. I had to get smaller so yesterday I ordered some 30" jeans and trousers. They arrived this morning and FIT PERFECTLY!

I still cannot believe I have lost 8" off my waist line and the last time I was a 30" waist was when I was 16. It has been a dream of mine for the last decade to fit into that size again and I have now achieved it.

You have no idea how over the moon I am  :drinker:

    Yup just toning now.

I love my new lifestyle and I really can't see me ever going back. It took a while but when I think about fast food or chocolate now all I can visualize in my head is the fat and grease churning around in my stomach and it really puts me off wanting it

I am in a bit of a dilemma now though. I love going to the gym and spend at least 1 1/2 hours a day doing it. The dilemma is I have a lot of extra calories each day and no easy way of eating them healthfully. I'll get there but getting the balance right is still hard work at the moment...

Yeah I know what you mean, I exercised yesterday morning and it felt like I spent the whole rest of the day eating, but I still wasn't at my calorie goal!
It's amazing how your feeling towards food change (don't get me wrong - I LOVE food still) but now I find myself in a situation where a few months ago I would have been stuffing my face, but now I just think 'I don't need that, I'm not hungry, and it's really not good for me'
There's no going back from that!
    Congrats again

Simon, try eating healthy snacks that are high in healty fats such as nuts, seeds, avocado etc. They are very good for you and should help you to use some of those extra exercise calories without reverting to any old unhealthy habits!

That's a good idea but can I confirm if I went over my daily fat figure with natural fats like nuts it isn't as bad as other types of unnatural fats?

Hey that's brilliant! You should keep an old pair of jeans or a jacket as a reminder of how far you've come... it's always a pleasure to put the old stuff on haha.

Like you, I struggled to find appropriate sizes in most stores on the high street, River Island have some great jeans in a size 30 - not looked at the trousers yet. Jackets are a nightmare tho - 36s are as rare as hens' teeth

btw - keep posting the successes, always good...

As for food, agree with the poster on nuts etc - try the Food Doctor Spicy Seed mix , it's amazing and a real tasty, healthy alternative to KP Dry roasted. I saw Andy Murray a while back on tv and he was eating 4000 cals a day to fuel the training & was pretty reliant on sushi as one of the core foods - another option?

    Simon,
You can have as many "success stories" as you want! Ya know... I don't think our "successes" end when we reach our goal weight. Just like our failures didn't "start" when we got to our highest weight. Sometimes the biggest "success" is a change in though process or the ability to walk away from something we didn't. I love reading all successes.

So about your most recent.... WOW! great job! My son, who is 12 (and 5'2 and very athletic) has a 30" waist! He wears a 32 - because of his bubble butt... but Dude... you're the size of my 12 year old! You must feel fantastic!

    Great job!

LOL - not if you saw my 12 year old! He's 5'2, 135 lbs, has more upper body muscle than most grown men I know (he does 150 pushups each night for fun - was doing "knuckle push ups" when he was in 3rd grade). He plays football (American) and takes it very seriously. My child regularly jogs 2-3 miles on the treadmill. TRUST ME - I meant it as a huge compliment and ummm.... yeah, I forget that not all 12 year olds are built like that! LOL!

Don't be so afraid of the fats! The fats in natural sources like avocados and nuts come are nothing to fear. You get the bonus of the vitamins and minerals these foods also come packed with.

Plus, the theory that saturated fats are so terrible is getting debunked these days. Check out this latest information:

Congratulations! It sounds from your progress and sizing like you and I are very similar physically...so the path you've walked "clicks" with me. I'm enjoying success vicariously and it helps keep the focus.

While I have some old "skinny" clothes that I am using as benchmarks, I never used to weigh myself, so I have no idea how many pounds stand between me and my goal. I just know that I'm on my way and will keep plugging along. Save some 30" jeans for me! ;)
