Well maybe when lent is over I can try to learn how to portion it. So what are you all giving up and what did you eat for fat Tuesday? I'm cutting my alcohol consumption to 2 cans of beer a week, and I'm not taking the elevator at college. Stairs for me! I find that I waste so many calories with alcohol, and don't realise it, so if I cut down (don't want to quit completely) I should be able to keep track of things better.

Best of luck with giving up things for lent to everyone!

I'm giving up on giving things up.

I will not deny myself anything for the sake of denying, but some things I know are not good for my body so I will not poision it with them.

I'm going to park further away from my building on campus (basically giving up the convenience of parking close) and buying makeup/clothes I don't need. Nothing really food related this year. Last year I gave up candy.

Rather than give something up this year, I'm going to add more prayer every day, for whomever in my life needs it most :-)

Best of luck to everyone giving up junk / sweets! My entire weight loss / lifestyle change began in Lent of 2009 when I chose to give up literally everything I knew was bad for me. I started educating myself and reading ingredient lists . . . have never looked back.

Here's a question. Everyone that is giving up certain things (like chocolate for instance) for lent....what's going to happen tomorrow? [Valentine's Day]
