Hi,

So, this is my first real diet..ever! I want and need to lose weight for a European vacation in May 2013. I will try my best to accomplish my goal. Any ideas and thoughts, welcomed. Thanks!

    Log log log...exercise exercise exercise!

MFP is a great tool and there are lots of people on the boards that are very knowledgable and helpful! Build a network of motivators, and stick to it even if it *seems* like nothing's happening -- it is! You're getting healthier!

    Good luck!
  • Get involved with the website - having some emotional connection will increase you likelihood of logging your food everyday.

    1) Log every bite you eat.

    2) Don't try to do too much at once. Slow and steady wins the race.

    3) Figure out your BMR and TDEE and eat the right number of calories for your body. http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/

    4) Make friends here. If you get involved in the social side of things, you are more likely to succed.

    5) Accept the fact that progress is slow, but believe that it will happen.
