Protein Balls (An no, not that kind) :)

· 1 cup (dry) oatmeal (old-fashioned oats)
· 1 cup toasted coconut flakes
· 1/2 cup chocolate chips
· 1/2 cup peanut butter
· 1/2 cup ground flax seed
· 1/3 cup honey
· 1 tsp. vanilla

Method:
Stir all ingredients together in a medium bowl until thoroughly mixed. Let chill in the refrigerator for half an hour. Once chilled, roll into balls of whatever size you would like. (Mine were about 1″ in diameter.) Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week.
Makes about 20-25 balls.
ADD IN YOUR OWN PROTEIN POWDER OF ANY KIND - SORRY LEFT THAT OUT ON ORIGINAL POST. MY BAD (I am human)

Here is another version:

Raw Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites
2/3 c raw cashews
1/3 c oats
2 Tbsp Agave
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup (Omit and use Agave to preserve true Raw Status if you care)
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Add in protein powder of any kind (again left out in orginal post, sorry)

1/4 c Chocolate Chips (or to preserve true raw status, take 2 Tbsp Raw Cocoa Powder and add 1 Tbsp Agave, optional dash of vanilla extract, whisk and blend. Spread into a thin layer on wax or parchment paper, freeze. Take frozen chocolate off parchment and crumble the shreds into the mixture as your raw “chips”.)

Recipe Yields: Approximately 17 Cookie Dough Balls

SOOOOO Easy to make. I left out the coconut flakes and flax seed in the first recipe. Literally took 3-4 minutes to make them.
    ENJOY MFP FRIENDS!!!!

    Have the macros on these?

Just curious, from the ingredients it seems like they would be mostly carbs and fats and not a great source of protein.

I guess I could run them myself, but if you have them handy that'd be cool.

Where's the protein? Peanut butter is a source of good fats. Not protein.

OH and you can add in Protein Powder (choc or van) if you want to make it more a true "protein" ball...

I dont - but there are tons on mfp that are similar. Looks to be about 100 calories per ball - but it really depends on the protein powder you add in as well.

Yes, add protein powder. I have made them before with protein powder added. And chopped dried fruits. YUM!

I want to try them with almond butter and agave so my son can eat them.
I thought of them more as 'energy bites' than protein bites.

    OP thanks for clarifying!

Is that about 100 cals per ball without protein powder added in?

Considering making these though, they'd be a good preworkout snack for me.

Yes ma'am - (I made mine small so I could eat two or three and not feel so bad) Divide the # of balls you make by cals in your powder, and everything else in them and you should be able to get right on the money.
P.s. AWESOME PIC, Love the legs. Very nice work

If you use quick oats, the definitely don't really need to be cooked. If you are using real old fashioned/rolled/steel cut oats, the texture may not be what you are expecting. personally, I like the texture and flavor of real uncooked oats.
