Sizes can vary dramatically based on body composition and how you carry your weight. A pear shape is going to be a bigger pant size at the same weight as an hourglass shape. A person with higher LBM is going to be a smaller pant size than a person the same weight (and same fat distribution pattern). Don't get too caught up in comparing yourselves to others- even people the same height.

I agree! Bone size, muscle distribution makes a huge difference! Someone that works out will have clothes fit differently than someone who does. Plus, manufacturers have changed clothing sizes as people's sizes have increased. Sells more clothes! Heck, yeah, I'll wear that size 4! Haha... That being said...people compare things. It's natural. Especially if you have some to lose and want a rough estimate of what to look forward to... I started my weight loss journey with Weight Watchers at 222lbs. I was a 16-18 for size. Now I am coming back down to my goal weight which is around 140. Right now, I am at 148.5 lbs and wearing my same clothes as goal (mostly). Some more comfortable than others. Most of my sizes are 8s with a few 6s. I have an hour glass figure and carry weight well (imo). I hope that helps. :)

    started at 82kg (180lbs) and currently 73.8kg (162lbs). I am 165 cms (5'4)
The weird thing is that I wear the same size - NZ size 12 (which is about a US size 8-10 I think), however things are MUCH looser on me, and sometimes I think I should try a size 10.
I am hoping to get down to a solid size 10 sometime, around about the 149lb mark.

Pant size 6 and some 8 (although they are getting big on me)

I shake my head at the size 6 because 25 years ago, I was the same size I am now and I was wearing size 12 to 14. I had to go down to 127 to wear a size 10. There was no way I could even begin to squeeze into a size 8. Unreal how vanity sizing has changed things.
