30 day shred.

Would u all recommend that for me a beginner in working out, someone who NEVER works out but wants to get started? Or wat would u all recommend for beginning workouts.

I have the Rockin Body and Brazilian Butt lift DVDs but am open to any other suggestions.

  • I started the 30 Day Shred when I weighed in the 230s and while the first day was very hard, I was able to push through it and I'm currently on Level 2 Day 4 and I've lost about 5 pounds since I started the 30 Day Shred.

Ultimately, though, listen to your body. If you are in pain (not sore, but ACTUAL pain) then you should quit and try a lower impact work out for the time being and work up to the 30 Day Shred.

If you don't have the DVD already, it's relatively inexpensive at stores like Target, where I got it on sale for less than 10 dollars.

I hope this helped a little bit :)

    Good luck!

EDIT: Yikes, that post was riddled with typos. My apologies...

I would recommend trying it and listening to your body regarding pain. Remember if you cannot do the full move, you can do a modification move.

I also recommend walking. Walking will help you so much.

it's good, i did that as my 1st workout dvd ever. i think slim in 6 is a better one though, it's not as hard on your knees and i is just a bit better for beginners...

I think 30 Day Shred is a great place to start. I also started it in the 230's at the beginning of January. It is hard - after the very first day, my whole body was sore! But there are modifications for a lot of the exercises, so you can start easy and work your way up. I do get bored easily, so I sometimes break it up with another Jillian workout (like 6 week 6 pack or Yoga Meltdown), but it's only 20 minutes, so it's very doable, and you get a little bit of everything (strength training, cardio, and abs). I started out struggling to do one real push-up, and yesterday I did 10! Very worth it.

Give it a try! I am on day 4 level 2. Six weeks ago I was completely inactive. It's a tough workout for me but I just keep at it. Modify the things you can. Take 5 second breathers if you have to. Just try to push yourself to do just a bit better than the previous day. You can do it!!
