This thread is proof to me that I wear most of my weight in my waist, butt, and thighs!

5'4" anywhere between 130-140 size 10, was just starting to need a size 12 at 141.

    5'5" 147lbs

I'm wearing a 6 in Old Navy but it should really be an 8. One motivation to my recent calorie counting, I don't want to buy more pants.

    5'4.5, around 120lbs.

My pants are (in Australian size) an 8-10, depending on where I'm buying them. I just looked up a conversion table and that's a US 4-6, I believe?

    5' 4"

    Top weight in 2011 - 280 pounds
    Weight in November 2012 - 270.9 pounds
    Current weight - 245.8 pounds

I can only guess that my elastic waistband pants are about size 26 or 28 short. They were tight and would not come completely up to my waist in 2011. I was constantly pulling them up and grateful that I had long shirts and blouses to cover up the gap.

Now, they are loose, and the stretched out waistbands on some of my pants are causing them to fall down. So, I am still pulling them up...but for a different reason. I have less belly and behind to hold them up.

You are a special snowflake, don't compare yourself to others.

    I'm a pear shape and 5'4"

SW: 198lb UK, Aus, NZ 16 (US 12) and they were tight, I often would try on 16's and not fit them, but be unable to try a larger size because the stores I shopped in only went to 16.

CW: 129lb UK, Aus, NZ 7/8/9 (US 3,4,5)

This is so incredibly random. Is someone here helped by threads like these?

Kinda, yes. I like to compare, since I'm 5'4 F. Also this helps to meet people of my body type, I want to make friends with similar body type and goals.

    170 - 12
    140 - 8 or 10?
  • Sizes can vary dramatically based on body composition and how you carry your weight. A pear shape is going to be a bigger pant size at the same weight as an hourglass shape. A person with higher LBM is going to be a smaller pant size than a person the same weight (and same fat distribution pattern). Don't get too caught up in comparing yourselves to others- even people the same height.

    5' 4''

    SW: 220, UK 20 trousers, UK 18 tops/dresses
    CW: 199: UK 16 trousers, UK 14 tops/dresses

I'm not sure what that is in US sizes... I think a UK 16 is a US 12?

    I'm 5'4.5" :flowerforyou:

At my largest, I weighed 191 and wore sizes 18 and 20 (I was technically a 20, but squeezed into an 18 because wearing that 20 was sad for me and I didn't want to do it...)

At my smallest, I weighed 128 and wore sizes 4 and 6 depending on the brand, but alas, I backslid...

Currently, I weigh 140 and wear sizes 6 and 8 depending on the brand. My goal is to be around 16% body fat which I estimate to be around 125 pounds based on my current body composition, and I am thinking I will be size 4 again at that point. Possibly a 2? I have a very small frame.

For me, it shows me that just because I don't have 30+ pounds to lose, I can still drop several pants sizes, which is really my goal!

And also, pants sizes vary depending on the brand.
