im new to mfp and am looking to go from 255 pounds to around 215. alot of my fat is around my stomach and chest i have what is known as a beer belly.im only 27 and have 3 children that i need to be around for.so i need all the help i can get. im wondering the best and cheapest foods to eat. and the best excersise for someone overweight. thank you

    Hi Hogcalls,

    My name is Andrea. I also have a little kiddo I want to be around for, so I figured, its time. My personal favorite is the treadmill. If you can find a community college to go to, they usually have free gyms to work out at, and do not question your school membership on most parts. If you have a gym membership, by all means utilize it too. I like the treadmill cuz it allows me to go at my own pace, but it also forces me to keep up with it, if that makes sense.

    Welcome to MFP! The belly and chest were my biggest problems too. The best exercises I've found to loose my problem areas has been crunches, cardio (walking and jogging), and weight training to tone. Good luck to you.

    if i walk 2 miles/30 minutes a day 5 days a week would that be adequete exercise starting off
