Severe Leg Pain?

Ok, I have started walking every morning on my treadmill (no incline). I also walk a lot at work, so I am on my feet most of the day. Now I know what reagular knee pain is, it feels focused on the knee joint and its almost like a burning under the skin.

What I am experiencing now is worse. It feels like someone has taken a sledgehammer to the side of my knee. Worse yet, it is moving up the side to my thigh, and it is so painful at times I have trouble getting to my feet. Alieve seems to help for a bit, ibuprofen does nothing for me, and I have even used the Icy-Hot creme and patches for only limited relief.

I want to walk and be fit, but sometimes the pain is so bad I can't do much of anything. It is also affecting my sleep, as I wake up most nights in pain. Even a pillow between my legs barely helps.

If anyone has experienced this before, I would really like some advice. If not, then I think I am going to go to the doctor.

I wouldn't mess with internet diagnosis- just go to the doc and see what he says. It could be something as simple as tendinitis, or it could be something structural.

Go to the Dr. I have had 2 knee surgeries on my left knee and 1 on my right knee. I still work out. So you can do it. Go see what the doc says.

Doctor! I had severe leg pain that my doctor brushed off when i was pregnant with my son it traveled up my leg to my groin area and was excruiciating. I coudl barely walk... Ended up being a blood clot (and no i wasn't over weight at the time) Also had a friend pass. complained of knee pain and didn't wake up the next morning. This is worse case scenario, but it can happen. Better safe then sorry.

Please don't look online for advice....just get it checked by your Doctor.
There are so many variables that it could be, some simple and easily treated others much more complex and damaging.

I somehow hurt my knee last March on the Treadmill, I ignored it and hoped it would get better with rest etc.....it didn't, I did finally get help but I have done even more damage in that time and I've now got problems with my "good knee and hip" due to over compensating for so long.

Take it from someone who has learnt the hard way.....get it checked.
