How can fried plantain have so much calories?

I have it once a week but 2 small fried plantains according to MFP database is: 856 calories :noway: :noway:

What's it fried in? Oil has LOADS of calories - I think 1 tablespoon of olive oil has 120 calories.
If its dry fried then it could be that what has been put in the database is a recipe from a member where they have fried it in oil.
Have a look at what the calories are for raw plaintain in the database - tat might help.0 -
Errr, is that one "finger" or one slice?? Cos i know 1 slice of fried plantain contains 68 calories.0

Any food which contains the word 'fried' is generally going to have a relatively high calorie count due to fat saturation.0

I medium plantain is 220 calories raw.0
