Someone who can't afford to go to a gym?

Joining a gym is not going to happen for me anytime soon. Can anyone recommend something like on youtube or another site that would show strength exercises that I can do? I don't even know what to search for, that's why I'm asking you all. Currently I'm just doing 60 minutes of cardio a day and an ab workout. I know I need strength training though.

Do you have a Netflix subscription? If so, check out what's available there. You can get various types of DVDs if you have a DVD plan with them -- I try out yoga and other exercise videos with mine. The public library is also likely to have some good workout DVDs you can try. And also check out exercise podcasts...there are some great ones out there that are free.0

Youtube. I just search yoga, pilates, and aerobics, and they have thirty long instructional videos! It's perfect for me at home!0

Hi, I am not sure about where you live, but most areas now are running an 'Exercise by Referral Scheme'. It is a scheme to get people fit. If you ask at your GP surgery, they can give you a referral. Sometimes is it a local class, or it could be a free pass to your local gym, depends where you live. Definitely worth asking.0 -
Don't forget about books, too! Check out what your public library has available. I've been using a book called "101 Ways to Workout with Weights" that shows 101 different dumbbell exercises. I've renewed it three times now, and still haven't tried everything in the book!0

Thanks guys! I will definitely check those sites out. And a bonus for me- I was just looking for something and found a Simply Pilates workout DVD and book that I had bought a year ago and forgotten about! It was like Christmas.0

Also, do you have cable? My system has a ton of fitness workouts On Demand, under something like "Sport and Fitness."0
