What weight kettlebell should I buy?

Okay I want to build muscle and have been told to lift heavy, but I have no experience with kettlebells.
I'm skinny fat and want to tone up and lower my body fat by strength and weights should I buy a 4kg or 6kg kettlebell? By the way I'm female and about 106lbs if this helps, thanks!

What exercises are you planning to do? 4 and 6kg will be really really light for many exercises, and moderately light for others. I think you will be better off buying two at varied weights than a pair at the same weight. Most exercises don't require two or can be adjusted to work with one.

8kg at a minimum - kettlebells are mostly legs using compound movements (you can do upper-body isolation moves but that really isn't the point of KBs) so you can go pretty heavy. Check out livefitrevolution.org for more free info and workouts from an actual kettlebell instructor.
  • I'm not sure what exercises to do :/ the product comes with a sheet with exercises I think, I was going to follow that abd find others on YouTube to do also

Agree - at least 8kg. There have been a few threads lately on kettlebells with great information. One had a great test for what weight to buy - if you can lift it straight in front of you with locked arms its too light!
