Gluten free help

Today is day two of trying gluten free to see if it helps me. I am really low on calories today and I want to make sure it doesn't become a habit. Is anyone willing to check out my diary and offer tips?

My son is gluten free. We eat alot of rice and rice noodles, potatoes and popcorn. Maybe make sure you eat some protein at every meal.

You can always add me and follow me on my diary. I am gluten free and have been for a year now. It takes some getting used to, but there are endless options. Definitely try eating more protein and for grains, add more brown rice and sweet potatoes or rice cakes, maybe add some good fats like nuts and avocados which will help increase your calorie intake. You don't want to stay too low for too long, even if you eat 1500-1800 cals a day but of clean eating, you will see losses and you will be satisfied all day.

I always send people to this link when they first go gluten free. I found it very helpful when I first went GF.

I'm pretty much gluten free. I have never felt better. I have my diary open and anyone can feel free to add me as a friend.
  • yikes!! you can eat normal and be gluten free!! I can tolerate small amounts of gluten but I over did it yesterday (gluteeny brownies for v day omg!) so today was a detox!

most of my breakfasts are greek yogurt n fruit, egg whites and bacon, or a smoothie of lactose free skim milk, yogurt and fruit
lunches-i like my vermicelli rice noodles and soup, a gluten free bagel sandwhich is good, or chicken or steak on a salad
dinners- rice pasta dishes, potatoes, soups, frozen fries and hashbrowns, gluten free waffels and pizza crusts are good staples to have on hand,

not sure where you are located but you can usually find all purpose gluten free flour mixes that you can use cup for cup in place of regular flour-this comes in handy for baking and thickening sauces

be warmed- theres gluten hidden in a lot of food you didnt think woud-malt vinegar, soy sauce.....its a nightmare if you are truly allergic!!! I just have sum nasty stomach issues after I eat gluten, they fade in about 24 hours and then i am fine!
  • Thanks everyone! I want to make sure this trial run isn't impacted by other negatives (too low cal, etc) so that I will know more accurately if I have a gluten sensitivity. Our local grocery store doesn't have gluten flour (small town) but I plan on going grocery shopping in a bigger town in next time so hoping for more options. And thank you for the link!!
  • I'm gluten free or trying to be 95% of the time. I have issues with migraine headaches so I don't eat gluten to curb them. I belong to two groups here as follows.
