Ate too many carbs today while doing keto.... advice plz!

So I am new to eating keto (btw I'm vegetarian) and trying to limit my carbs to 20-30 g a day. Today was an off day, and I had probably double, maybe even more, the amount I should have. Will this knock me off completely, or will my body still work off some body fat? I dealt with the infamous "ketoflu" earlier in the week, and I dread going through it again if my body has to detox again.

And if there are any veggie keto-ers out there, do yall have any trouble eating the right balance between fats and protein? I can get the fats from cheese and nuts, but I seem to be lower on my protein levels. Some times I know I should eat, but I am not hungry, therefore I dont get my recommended levels.

The way I understand it is this, some people can stay in ketosis with 50g-60g or carbs, others can't. I also think when you are new it is less likely, but the longer you practice keto the easier your body transitions after a carb day.

    You will soon find out!

Opened the thread to try to help.... but I guess I can't. Sorry.

A lot of the reasoning behind choosing a ketogenic lifestyle has to do with the reality that humans eat animals and always have. But I guess the mono-culture of grain and destruction of soil organisms and watersheds is a much better option. But then again you aren't vegan so now I am even more confused.

Not sure what you're confused about.... my personal lifestyle choices or why I chose to follow this diet? Following a keto diet is not about "eating animals"; its based on the state your body goes into through the science of ketosis. Burning fat instead of glucose.

Is that a fake chicken replacement in your food diary then? Just wondering.

It is. I have found that quorn and gardien brands are very low in carbs as compared to protein.

Thank you for your input. I have had a headache since about an hr after I ate, so I can definitely say my body can sense the difference lol
