DUDE, HIVE MIND! I was just fifteen minutes ago thinking about this - - the cartoons these days are all crap. No Thundercats, no Transformers, no Voltron, no GI Joe . . . and when they do try to recycle the franchises, they get it all wrong.

    This thread.

I'm not even that old, but I'm old enough to remember the good cartoons.

And Spongebob is a good deal over these new cartoons!
  • I've tried watching cartoons with my kids but some are just too weird. I miss the 80s stuff like transformers and voltron as well as the old bugs bunny and Tom n Jerry. The new ones just don't do it for me.

Looney Tunes: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Speedy Gonzalez, Foghorn Leghorn. All classic. Scooby Doo, Johnny Quest, Justice League. Those were all good cartoons. We only got cartoons on Saturday morning.

I buy the DVD's and watch them on NetFlix.
When I was growing up, Thundercats was on EVERY day after school, I didn't have to wait until Saturday to get my fix

    OMG YES!!!

My kids are 2 and 7, and the crap they're stuck watching makes me sad for humanity. I miss Voltron, Robotech, Transformers, Thundercats, BUGS BUNNY for chrissake, scooby-doo, captain caveman, and the Flintstones (which totally should have been prime time).

Now, the only cartoon that comes on that's even worth anything is Phinneas & Ferb because that show's funny.

Girl, you hit the nail on the head! Miss my BB & RR, Scooby-Doo, Transformers, and Voltron. Not many remember Voltron!

In all fairness, I have to appreciate one of the newer ones called The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. That **** is beyond twisted. Even Spongebob has it's "why would you let children watch this?" moments. One particular comes to mind: 'Okay guys, let's touch soft parts in a friendly manner'. I think hearing that coming from a young child's TV time, especially not knowing the context would freak any parent out. xD
  • I miss Heathcliff & the Catillac Cats & Inspector Gadget. :embarassed:
  • Scooby Doo, Heathcliff, Garfield....miss them....
  • Replaced by 30 minute commercials, interlaced with 30 second commercials, man I miss Bugs, Scooby and Rocky & Bullwinkle.

If you guys have satellite ask for the Boomerang channel... they dont show ALL the good ones, but I do watch Scooby Doo (the 30 min and the hour celebrity movies) smurfs, snorks.... Tom and Jerry, Topcat, Thundercats just about everyday.

I would love to watch the Gummy Bears one more time and Alvin and the Chipmunks... I'm dying to see the "puttin on the ritz" episode.

    Edit: spelling
