mfp has me at 1200 and TDEE has me eating alot more. You can use this website to figure your caloried goal on TDEE method
http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ figure your bmr then let it take you to TDEE. Put your current weight in as your goal weight and then find your exercise level and deduct 10-30% off the calorie count, depending on how fast you want to lose. You can see whether or not you will be eating more.0 -
My TDEE comes out to 2503, so if I dropped 20%, or ~500 calories a day, I would lose a pound a week while eating 2000. If I wanted to lose, say, 1.25 pounds/week, I would have to eat 1875 calories per day.
But I've been doing MFP, not TDEE -20%, and eating back my exercise calories. In my first month, I lost 5 pounds, or 1.25 pounds/week. My daily average calories: 1874.
The only difference is that I told MFP I only wanted to lose .5 pounds/week. It must have figured my daily needs on the low side.0 -
What I like about following the TDEE -20% 'method' is that I do not worry about eating my exercise calories back. I do not know if I actually eat more but as I almost always work out at night and I am not good about eating a lot during the day so its just easier. My BMR is 2012 and my daily goal is 2000. My TDEE is between 2400 and 3100 depending on my activity for the day. And most workouts I burn around 600. MFP had me set at 1700. So I guess I actually eat less but I struggle to get close to 2000 so I couldn't possibly do 2300.0

Ok, thanks. I was just wondering because MFP's calculations for me have me at 1460 a day but I seem to go over 100-200 calories maybe 2 or 3 times a week but it seems to be working for me for the most part. I was just wondering.0
