Light exercise with a strained muscle?

The other day I strained a muscle on my side/abdomen. It hurts pretty bad and any kind of twisting movements are painful. I was wondering if anyone knew of any stretches or light exercises that I could do until my muscle is healed so that I do not gain the weight back during that time.

I would just watch the diet. You might want to check with a doc before working out again (if you strained real bad)0 -
Focus on light stretching to keep the muscle from spasm. Pilates has some good beginner core stretches for the abdomen. High cat, low cat, cobra, hip thrust, etc......go slow and easy. Sharp pain means stop. Ice it regularly and take extra fish oil to help with the inflammation.0
