I am new here.. and I am a mom to 3 children under the age of 3! Yes.. call me crazy, but I love them, and they are amazing children! Brief History about my weight issues - Married at the young age of 21 to my highschool sweetheart.. gained 60 lbs in 3 years.. weight 215 at our wedding.. 3 months after we were married, we both realized it was a mistake, and he was not attracted to me anymore.
I left.. took all 215lbs of me and my dog and re-started my life with my nana and grandpa. Finally noticed how big I was, and decided to do something about it. Started off slow, and then joined a gym, but my current husband online, lost 70 lbs, looked AMAZING. Had an un-expected pregnancy with our eldest son, gained 40 lbs during pregnancy, dropped all of it. Planned our daughter, gained 35lbs, dropped 20 lbs. Lastly, planned our youngest son, gained 30 lbs, and now currently working it off. I topped off with this pregnancy at 204, so I have come a long way.. but man it is hard.
I am now stuck, now I know I have to actually work at it to get it off. With 3 young ones, I have no time to go to the gym, and my husband works like crazy with 2 full time jobs, (we are both developmental support workers), and putting our eldest son with Autism through IBI therapy.
So, put together stress, zero time, and super emotional = stuck at 169. My goal is to be at 155-150, I am happy there, and I suit that weight prefectly. We are moving my at-home eliptical to the livingroom, so when the children are in bed at night, I can watch a show and run for a half an hour.. I am hoping that will help get this baby weight off.
I would love to meet other people struggling like I am, having support definetly helps the progress!!!
Thanks for listening,
Vanessa

Hi Vanessa,
It is nice to meet you and i would like to give a little info about me. My name is Jeanine and I also have some weight issues and have decided to do something about it. I am married about to spend my 5 year anniversary on July 1st. I have 3 children from a previous marriage son 19, son 17 and daughter 16. I work full-time 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and go to school nights online for my Bachelor's Degree. I just completed my Associated on April 18th. I have always been somewhat large and never really thought anything about it until very recently. We moved from Tennessee to North Carolina and where we live there are 2 flights of stairs to go up and down, boy did I realize my weight then I didn't think I was going to make it moving in!!
I have been going to the gym here at work in the morning before my shift starts for 35 days now. I started at 274 lbs and now weigh 265 and have lost 6 1/2 inches!!!! I am so excited to be finally make some changes that not only do I see but i feel different. A friend at work has been using this site since January and has lost 67 lbs so far and told me about it so I joined yesterday!!!
You are so close to your goal that is amazing you have lost so much and made yourself so much healthier for you and your children you have got to be sooo proud of yourself, i know I am... that is a major accomplishment you have already achieved and you should get a major pat on the back!! i hope to get to give you such a success story within the upcoming months!0 -
You ladies have the right frame of mind! Everyone has limitations for different reasons, seeing your way through them, around them, beyond them is what ends in success.
Finding "your time" and deciding you will use it to better your health is a huge success.
I found "my time" just after I get off work. Right now it's just a half hour, but it is after work and before dinner so it works. I go walk at our high school track for 30 minutes, then go home and put on my "Wife/Mom" hat and start that job. I also have a bit of time in the evening I claim as "my time". When everyone is tended to, I lose myself in my latest hobby, family history! Having "you time" for a hobby is also rewarding. Doing something that makes you happy that is for YOU is a great stress relief. Stress is a huge roadblock to weight loss so keep that in mind.
Workout AND do something fun for you!
Good luck to both of you!0 -
