Great thread! I am struggling to get rid of mine. It is getting smaller after 30ds but it is definitely a work in progress.0

Wow, this is amazing! How did you do it and how long did it take? Im beginning to think that my belly will never go!Wow!! You look amazing!! That's so what I'm hoping for! Right now I'm about 20lbs heavier than your start weight and want to get to 140lbs. Can I ask how long it took you to lose the weight?
I lost the first 35lbs without really trying very hard - but it took 2 years. I've lost the last 35lbs over the last 6mths (I even plateaued for almost 3 of those months!) so a fast loss is definitely possible. I do think that the longer time it takes the easier it often is to be discouraged, and the more patience plays a role in your loss.
I found after losing weight my pooch was actually more pronounced and definitely more saggy. But incorporating strength training made a HUGE difference. I did go to the gym, but I haven't been since Jan (membership expired) and I have always worked out mainly at home. YouTube Videos have been my favourite - I love Fitness Blender and Be Fit channels. I'm a HUGE fan of bodyweight training, yoga and HIIT.
In the end getting rid of it really required three things - strength training, cardio and a calorie deficit (that wasn't TOO big) - most people just seem to leave out the strength training because they don't realise you don't HAVE to do it in a gym and you don't HAVE to have any equipment (I only have dumbbells (1kg, 2kg, 3.5kg & 4kg), an aerobic step, pullup bar and a yoga mat, that's it, and there are many days were I use nothing but my body).
Thanks for that run down of what you've been doing, I'm wanting to start doing the weight training but thought I had to go to a gym to do it, I will now take a look at the you tube videos you suggested and give them ago with my dumbells I have at home, I've just started a new carlorie deficit after looking at IPOARM and do a lot of cardio so just really need to add in the weights which I already have at home. Here's to getting a flat stomach by the 21st of May!! (Holiday time  )0 -
I'm 5'8", 27, with 2 kids. l weighed 235 during both pregnancies and was still 215 when my youngest was over a year old in Nov 2009 when I decided to take control of my health and lose the weight. It took me about 6 months to lose 55lbs and I had maintained around 160 ever since. I kind of fell off the exercise and healthy eating wagon about 9 months ago though and was just feeling run down and looking flabby. I started an *amazing* workout program called Turbofire on 11/12/12 and have lost an additional 20 lbs and finally lost the belly pooch and am in the best shape of my life.
Turbofire 12 week results
Before pics - It was really hard to find any photos that had my belly in it. I avoided pictures period.
WOW. now thats motivation0 -
Great job everyone on losing the tummy. I lost 130 lbs but still have the tummy and would like to lose it too. Guess the secret is in the work out.0

Not gone (I still have SOO far to go!!), but shrinking -- I feel hopeful! This has been over 3 months.
I was mortified at what my lower abdomen looked like after having my daughter. The first 2 months of good weight loss didn't seem to touch my tummy, but then the third month showed a noticeable difference to me.
Wow. Just 3 months. You are doing great.
This is a great thread. All of the pics give me hope. I know I will lose the weight, but I am really worried about loose skin after 2 c-sections. But these pics show bellies just like mine before, that look great after. Awesome!0 -

For me - eating right, running, lifting, and PATIENCE! That's all it is. Work hard and you'll see the results. If you're not seeing results, change things up. Eat MORE than you think you probably should. I started at 1200 calories and did everything "right" for a month, and no change in either weight or measurements. I upped my calories to 1600+ and dropped the weight.
DITTO re the food - I was at 1200 and plateaued for 3 months, upped my cals to around 1500+ and lost immediately. And I do a lot of cardio too, but it was when I included strength that I got results.
Was that calories before or after excercise calories? I eat about 1600-1800 a day but burn off 400-600 during my workouts netting around 1200.0 -
You guys are amazing! Very inspirational!0
