Last 10 lbs

I am on my last 11 pounds to lose (thank God) and this is the plan that I had in mind.

for the

first 6 I will use TDEE-20%
Last 5 I will use TDEE-5%
and then eat at maintenance.

How do you folks rate this plan?

What works for me might not work for you, but I have ten left too and I think as long as I feel okay I'm just going to keep doing exactly what I'm doing until I hit goal. I was going to slow it down, but then I realized why? It will slow itself down all by itself.

but when you suddenly increase your calories to maintanance wont there be a weight gain?

Maybe just water weight. If I don't eat over what I burn off every day I can't gain weight. Not to say it won't be tricky to find my exact maintenance number, because it might be, but once I find it I should be good to go.

By definition if you gain fat you are not consuming calories at maintenance.

I just lost ten pounds doing exactly that. I did go over often but never over TDEE so the loss was slow. I really feel confident that I can maintain now though.

I ate -10% TDEE to lose the last 10lbs. It was the slowest and most torturest process of the entire weight loss, but it happened and I know how to eat at maitenance now.

is this good or just eating at TDEE-15% for the remainder of the weight loss?

whatever suits your lifestyle, personally i'd go all in, which i'm doing at the moment. I have about 10lbs before I reassess and I've been losing quite regularly as of late, maybe .5lb-1lb a week.

If you feel like you can sustain a 20% reduction in calories long-term then go for it, if you're afraid that you might gain it all back once you start maintaining then i'd recommend a 200 calorie reduction per day til you meet goal. I'm not sure if that's -10% but I'm sure you'll figure it out with your calculations iA.

    Feel free to add me!!

    Good luck!

Why would losing the last 10 faster make a person gain weight when maintaining? I don't understand. If you gain while maintaining you are eating too many calories and would need to reduce them. How many calories you used to eat would have nothing to do with it.
