Hi all
I gave up smoking over a year ago and have gained 3.5 stone! Desperately need to lose this excess weight, I felt healthier when I smoked!!
In all seriousness I am looking to give and receive support and maybe friendship along the way, any tips you can share would be appreciated! Add me!

Hey there,
I'm an Ex smoker and glad for it, yep you do put the weight on, but if you try to use MFP and and exercise, you WILL see the benefits, I gave myself 6 months of just trying to keep the weight off, then started using the Wii for exercise, couldn't afford the Gym (had a baby on the way) the Wii was great at slowly building up my strength and cardio.... ( i used EA sports Active 1 and 2) that got me to a point where i could run. (to think an ex smoker ... running)
So my point... its totally worth giving up, i always tried to keep myself busy when i had a craving, and If I could i exercised my way through it.. (major cravings in the morning, so did the Wii in the mornings instead)
It is tough, but if you want moral support you'll find it here... just remember to not give in, not even 1..
I tell people I will always be a smoker... I just choose not to smoke... i cant stand the smell of it, or even think about it...
So the weight gain is a pain.. but its better than a ciggie...... any day0 -
thanks for the inspirational comments we will get there together!! :-)0
