Stressed out at no progress- help

Hi

I'm really starting to stress out about not losing any weight for months now. I have increased my exercise significantly over the last few months and have lost a big fat nothing!!!!!

I'm a stay at home mum, I go to the gym 4-5 days a week ( spin class, pump class, treadmill runs, elliptical trainer, weights, cycling ) I also walk alot. Some days I will do a 5km walk as well as the gym. If I can't get to the gym I walk. My walks include pushing a pram with a 14kg toddler in it. I have taught myself to run 5km. I'm so disappointed all this effort is not paying off, I'm not even going down in clothes size.

I try to eat "real foods" and by that I mean veges , fruit, bread. Dairy, I cook most things myself and use cooking spray and olive oil. I don't want to resort to shakes ect as I don't like to eat too many processed and preservative filled foods. I have even taken to cooking lost of vegetarian meals.

I have recently upped my calorie intake to see if that helps.

I am also wondering if it is possible to have damaged my metabolism? I lost 26kg I. 2004 and over the next 7 years I slowly put on 10 kg. I probably never went back to eating 2000 cal. And now after the birth of my son I'm really struggling to lose the weight. ( I have 4 kg to be back at pre pregnancy and 7 till my ultimate goal)

I would love to hear any suggestions people have!

So this could be a really dumb question so let me apologize in advance, BUT are you accurately tracking what you are eating? Exercise/fitness is fantastic. Eating real food and not processed stuff is great. However, at the end of the day, calories are calories. Are you weighing/measuring your food?

You can't out exercise a bad diet. And even the "real foods" have calories.
  • Yes I weigh and measure everything. I have been reading some other posts and it may be that I'm not eating enough

Sounds like your pretty active, I would figure out your TDEE and take a cut from that.. more than likely your not eating enough and in a nice plateau.
  • Just out of curiosity where do you get protein? Not much was mentioned, maybe you aren't eating enough protein? And could add a serving or two to what are already eating, which would both test if more calories helps and if more protein helps.

How many calories are you netting a day? How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
