What does your workout consist of?
I'm looking for new ideas. I'm getting kind of bored of staring at the wall when I'm on the treadmill.

Get some HIIT into you. I do a 20-25 minute quick HIIT routine on the stationary bike (I can't run at the moment)

    3-4minute warmup
7x1minute intervals with 30 sec rest
    2 minute working recovery
    10 x 20sec sprints with 10 sec recovery
    2-3minute cool down

You can vary the interval lengths and the recovery lengths based on your fitness/mood/goals

I usually get pretty close to vomiting after the second working set - you definitely won't be bored

Other suggestions boxing, lifting or take up a team sport. I do all of these and definitely never get bored

I run outside 3-5x's a week, then do the elliptical a 2--3x's a week. Sometimes if it's a little cold i run on the treadmill, or if i have a ton of energy after the elliptical i will do a couple of miles. Try taking your treadmill workout outside if the weather in your area permits. Nothing better then hearing the birds sing ;)
  • Definitely do some sort of intervals, if nothing else it really helps with keeping your mind busy. Also check out circuit weight training, that's helped me a lot.

Here is one of the circuits I do:

    Exercise Reps\weight

    High to Low Rotation 20 - 32.5#
    Squat w/Bicep curl 20 - 10#
    Arm Opposite Leg Raises 20
    Squat to Cable Row 20 - 32.5#
One legged squat w/donkey kick 20
One arm chest press on ball 20 - 17.5#
One arm db front raises. 20 - 10#
One arm db bent over rows. 20 - 20#
    ball crunches. 20
    Leg Lifts 20
Do 4 sets. First Set counts as warm up so NO BREAK between 1st and 2nd Set

then a 30-60 second break between remaining sets.

THEN when I am done with that I do 30 minutes on the treadmill @ 3.5-4 mph at a 11-15 incline.

I do this six days a week but juggle between 3-4 circuits that I have.
