    I'm just curious...I see people with such high totals per day (5 miles and up). I walk at about 3.5mph, which means I'd be walking for 90 minutes or so if I were going to go that far. Is that what y'all are doing? If so, that is really impressive! I make time for about an hour each day, but I rarely go above 4 miles.

    I suffered a heart attack back in June '12 due to being fat and idle. Since then I have walked every single day without fail, I am retired and have the time to exercise and cook all my meals from scratch. Since my heart attack I have lost 74 lbs, 33 of those since joining MFP.
  • joined today - need a pal if anyone can help - going to try and go for a walk today and do at least 3 miles - my mind is so very ablee and willing but my body - is not following! By the time I think about what I am going to do today - its warn out with it all! I write down what i am planning but always seem to come up with an alternative thats easier - like making the family meal - else how will they survive when they are all home - how bad is that? Think ive got into bad habits! Anyone out there who wants to help I'm willing to listen - need a pal to motivate my lazy *kitten*!

    I'm curious about the walking DVD - do you just march on the spot in front of your TV, or is it in conjunction with a treadmill?
  • you should be so proud of yourself that is amazing to come so far. I have only joined today and I am looking forward to having a challenge and someone to help support and maybe motivate me! I have been off work for a little while as my stomach was playing up and I was told it was a gull bladder that had to be removed - but last week I had a growth removed from my bowel that they think is nothing to worry about so they are going to test it and i find out next week. I ave bin so tired and having to rest all the time as my stomach was sore but now I want to get on with my life and begin to live again. I have tried so hard last year it took me a year to get nearly a stone off and now i have become stuck. I think I just need to get back on track really and get back into it. I suppose to I should not get myself too stressed as I have had the surgery & you do have to take time to heal etc. The good thing the specialist told me was that I had not lost weight so that is a positive for the growth but I need to feel healthy, fit and well again so today is the beginning of my plan!

  • This is so hard for me to do in the cold months. I love walking in the spring and summer, but winter really kills my desire to go outside at all. I'll try next month if it gets a little warmer here!
