Best heart rate monitor

I was wondering who uses a heart rate monitor and which ones are recommended. I don't need a very fancy one with GPS because I don't run outside often or cycle. I do want something that can accurately calculate calories burned though.

Polar Ft7 and FT4 our two of the best entry level heart rate models out there.
Not a HRM but the Bodymedia is another wonderful device that tracks calories burned all day.0 -

Polar seems to be pretty industry standard to interact with machines in the gym, so that's a good brand
Otherwise, just make sure it has a chest strap which is the most effective way for it to measure your heartrate0 -
