SQUATTING IN HIGH HEELS IS DANGEROUS!

high heals offer way to stable of a platform to get a good core workout. What you need to use is a swiss ball
Now that's a quality fitness routine.
*chanting* POP! POP! POP!
Wait...let me go get a pin!0 -
I think I've reached a point in my life where I realize high heels are ridiculous inventions. I certainly can't imagine anyone working out in them.0
-
a lot of people are doing it to target diff. muscle groups... but compromising your ankles and knees to target other muscle groups, just isn't worth it!0
-
Anyone else have sharp stabbing pains in their heels now? Just....OUCH! Damn you mental picture creating people!0
-
Yup, high heel workouts are a thing now. Not just squats either. Lunges, lifting, and even cardio. The worst part is, there are some "trainers" pushing the trend and offering high heeled workout classes promising that the extra elevation from heels works out your core better. Though, if you happen to be a podiatrist, I suggest you go to one of those classes and hand out your business card at the door.0

Since no one else has posted it...
pffft. 45 #!!
Also the whole meme of women weightlifting in stripper heals, whats up with that?

What brought this on? Who would even consider doing weight training workouts in heeled shoes? That's some Darwin awards crap right there.
^^this0 -
My Rogue shoes have a 3/4" heel0
-
Dear God...there are people who think it's good to squat (or any exercise) in heels?! WTF.0
-
do people look at a stylized photo shoot and actually think "ah, yes, lucite heels...that must be the proper footwear for the squat rack"?0
-
Yeah, I read a news article about it the other day. Another fad for people who are too stupid to know better.0

At least her quads are the right shape.0 -

Not at you, OP. At people who would think that.
:noway:0 -
Please. As little as the women in those photos are squatting? I could totally do that in heels.
For the record, yes, squatting in heels is stupid.0 -
I've actually heard of High heel bootcamps in my area... some people dont do it just for show/posing...
I wanted to actually try it just cause I wanted to do something different!0 -

These make it okay since they LOOK like work out shoes, right?0 -
Why the hell would anyone squat in heels?? Granted I can run, jump, and dance for hours on end in my heels but I would never consider squatting in them.0

I want those!!!0 -
Can't be any worse than the ...umm....immigrant women we have at our gym who use the treadmill in heels and too small jeans...0
-
From what I can see, the "high heel" workout is a modeling/exercise class to teach you how to walk in heels. You don't do the exercise part in heels. http://www.thatsfit.com/2009/05/06/high-heel-workout/0

These look really stable, so they're cool, right?

I don't care what any of you say! I squat in heels on a bosu ball twice a week, and my legs have never been sexier!0
-
I'm so tired of this judgmental crap on MFP. BE SUPPORTIVE.
If a woman wants to wear sexy footwear while she works out, how bout you not **** block a guy with a shoe fetish?
Good pics in this thread.0 -

Hey! They make my butt look fanTAStic! Don't judge.0 -
I figured that was common sense, considering it's dangerous to even walk in high heels.0
-
lol who the hell works out in high heels?
Virginia.
^ This made me lol (and flash back to the late 90s)
I admit that I squat in heels... but ONLY when I'm at a bar, I have to pee, and the toilet seats are gross.0 -
All I can imagine is a chick with 100+ lbs on the bar at the bottom of the squat and her rolling her ankle inward. BOOM PAIN! Oh god my palms are sweating just thinking about it.
ow ow ow ow ow!!!!:sad:0 -
I didn't have to buy sneakers to workout?! Darn... I could have use my heels????? Ugh... Well I don't want to break the heels of my shoes so I'll just stick to the sneakers and have someone else get injured at the gym.... I bruise like a peach.0
