Low Calorie Mexican Dessert...

Hi!

I am off to a Mexican themed dinner party on Saturday and it is my job to make a dessert (possibly 2) and I was hoping the MFP community could be of some assistance!

I was initially thinking a chocolate and lime cheesecake? But I know there are some people who are not fussed on cheesecake (whats wrong with these people!), so can you think of anything else???

  • Hi Evey,
I just googled 'Mexican desserts low calorie' (purely cos it intrigued me to know what desserts Mexicans do and we have themed nights too) loads of pages came up with recipes. There are so many I couldn't post them all for you but if you have difficulty finding, get back to me and I will try and pick some out x

I have found a low calorie flan recipe, so I think I might give that a go :)

I made a triple chocolate flan for our Mexican dinner party / housewarming but it wasn't low calorie!

sopapillas are one of my favorite mexican desserts. they're usually fried tortillas with a honey-rum sauce. im sure you could find a recipe that toasts the tortilla with a honey sauce instead of fried.
  • hope it turns out well and you have a great evening x

  • How about tropical fruit? Pineapple, mango and kiwi dressed with lime. Melon is also very big down there.
