calorie intake per day

How many calories per day should I consume and still lose weight. Right now my target is about 2300 cal per day. Is this good?

    It all depends on your height, weight, age, activity level. There are lots of websites available (including this one) to help you determine your calorie goals to either lose, gain, or maintain your weight. I personally tried several and got slightly different amounts from each so I kind of went with an average. I also figured up what my calorie goals would be to lose 2lbs a week (my minimum calorie goal), 1 1/2 lbs a week (my goal listed on here and midway calorie goal), and 1 lb. a week (my max. calorie goal) I stay somewhere in between all of those.

    I can't help but wonder which is correct. MFP says I should have 1440/day but Biggest Loser says I should have 1827. The Biggest Loser way of figuring it out is You take your current weight and multipy it by 7 and that equals the number of calories you should eat per day.

    whoa...my current weight x 7= 980...that can't be right!
