If you're insulin resistant, diabetic or have other risk factors for metabolic syndrome that's when I think fruit/sugar/carbs become a concern. For everyone else, I think it's enough just be sure you're eating more vegetables than fruit and that will naturally regulate how much fruit you're eating.0

A lot of folks will say it's bad, but biologically, that's just not the case. We process fruit sugars extremely efficiently and it's a great source of energy for our bodies. However, other foods that we eat can affect how fruit processes, so that's probably why there are mixed opinions. Example, if you have a high fat diet, the fat lingers around in the blood stream causing the simple sugars to absorb more slowly, causing the myth that the sugar in fruit spikes blood sugar when it's really the fat that's blocking proper absorption into the cells. There are a lot of great books on the subject. If you like reading material, look up the works of Dr. Fuhrman, Douglas N. Graham, or Dr. Neal Barnard who have all done studies on carbs and sugars in the human body in people who eat something besides a typical high fat American diet.
For what it's worth, when I was pregnant with my second baby, I had gestational diabetes. They told me to watch my fruit intake or it would spike my blood sugar. I had to check my blood sugar four times a day and fruit never spiked it, not once. I also eat a ton of fruit.
Anyway, you'll probably get a lot of mixed opinions on this question, but I'd recommend to do some reading and see what you come up with.

Thank you guys for the input! I kind of feel, if i am eating healthy, then i should be fine.. I just get a little confused on this one. I am def. going to look up the suggested Dr.'s findings.0

I just always try to eat my fruit WITH some fat/protein to optimize how my body processes the sugar. So, I don't eat a pc of fruit as a snack. For example: peanut butter with my apple, nuts with my orange... That way you don't get a blood sugar spike.0

I don't know anyone with serious health issues caused by eating too much fruit.0

I don't know...I keep an eye on how much fruit I consume, mostly because I'm one of those people concerned about insulin responses. I love fruit, but typically go for berries these days...sometimes an apple or something. My teenage son has no issues with insulin and eats lots of fruit and is a very healthy guy. Hasn't been really sick in years!0

As long as you're getting enough fats and proteins you can use your carbs for fruit.0
