pureed veggies as sauces?

I was using an mechanical chopper and accidentally pureed my veggies (apparently that extra 5 seconds took it from nicely chopped to mush. . .). I ended up turning it into a sauce for pasta and it was actually quite nice! I was wondering if anyone else has done this and would be willing to share their concoctions or favorite combinations.
This was mine:
1/2 a Yellow pepper
1/4 a Green pepper
2 stalks of celery
1/4 an Onion
1 can of (drained) Tuna
~1.5 tbsp of Ponzu sauce (a soy sauce and citrus(specifically lime) mixture)
~1 tsp Ground Ginger
I left that on medium-high heat until it bubbled, then added in sliced mushrooms and leftover cooked spaghetti noodles. I kept the same heat on it for another two minutes (when I thought the noodles were warm), then devoured it with a little sea salt and lots of freshly ground pepper
