i need help/advise

ive gained 17 pounds this month eating garbage from fat tuesday till now and im trying/ready to get out of this funk but that damn scale got me depressed! i was 171 on feb 1st today i am 188. i heard its mostly water/sodium weight. is this true and how do i get rid of water weight (besides exercise cause after im done typing im going to go workout)

Hey Lady,
You've come so far from when you started until now. If the scale depresses you, put it under the sink and forget about it. Its not always what the scale reads that is important. You want to FEEL healthy too. Just try and cut out all the garbage food that you've been eating recently and take a trip to the grocery store. I did this yesterday and got so many yummy fruits and veggies. I precut cantaloupe and put it in a container in my fridge and now every time I open up the door its the first thing I see. I'm not sure about the weight being water weight or not but try to eat less sodium if you think that may be the case. Don't try and "get rid of the water weight" just go back to a normal healthy diet and within a few days your body will correct itself. I hope you get to feeling better, maybe look at some old photos of yourself before you started your journey to up your motivation and help you get out of your funk.0 -
"Water weight" is not 17 lbs unless you are preggo (aside from the fact that our bodies are made of mostly water...). You just said it....you have been eating like crap. If that is the case, then it is probably fat. Time to change it. If you let the scale "get you depressed" about working out, you will only gain more weight. Its a maelstrom, let me tell you. Use it as motivation.
Its okay to eat like crap every once in a while, but you need to set goals for yourself if you want to lose it. I did that. At 205, I will be breaking from my healthy cycle, and still work out but will probably be eating more junk for a bit (it coincides with me moving to a new state). 205 is also "on the shelf," so to speak, as when I get to below 200, I will have to be gettin' some new blue jeans.
Just an fyi....I have totally trimmed down the carbs (I am down to the low 100g's from the high 400g's per day) and it is working. It comes from Meats and Dairies. My diary is open. Check it out, and best of luck to ya!0 -

You have lost 58lbs...WTG!!!
You know it isn`t water/sodium, you have learnt so much already about your body...it IS letting food creep back up on you...
get back on track, we all have little hiccups....make sure you keep your diary...I put a few lbs back on when I took my off the ball with my diary...back on track now...come on you can do it!0 -
