Wondering if any of you know any good cardio or any other workouts that work the inner thigh that really work? Also, any exercises for the butt and thighs overall? I'm hoping to trim and tone them down, at the moment they just look fat and not so great.

  • Unless you're doing strength training circuits for cardio, I don't think cardio will help you at all. I've basically ditched solo cardio for strength training via body weight circuits and my thighs and overall body have been losing fat. Check out Nerd Fitness' Beginner Body Weight Circuit: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/

I've been doing those + 25 mins of ballet or other dance, 3 or 4 times a week (don't forget you need rest days)
Also, make sure to watch videos on proper form or else you won't get anywhere.

    Good luck! :)

The conventional wisdom is that spot cardio training doesn't work if you are looking at loosing fat from one particular area.
Concentrate on using MFP to adopt a heathy eating pattern, stay within your calorie allocation and maintain regular exercise.
If you want to tone - squats are great for the thighs and bottom. Great cardio inc. walking, running (if your knees are up to it), swimming and cycling. There are others.
If you are a member of a gym - consult one of the in-house trainers. If you do not belong to a gym - it might be worthwhile considering a membership.
    kind regards,

    Ben

You can't target where fat disappears from, only where you add muscle to. For adding muscle to inner thighs, lunges with proper form, full range of motion, and a fairly high amount of weight.

So....squats target all those muscle groups, as well as the back of the thigh. Big bang for the buck.

I see that your goal on your profile is to get a thigh gap and that you suffer from depression, and unless you have the right bone structure (or plan on starving yourself), that isn't going to be an achievable goal. make sure to stay in a healthy mindset rather than one that's going to perpetuate self destruction.

This is correct. The thigh gap is not a result of being "skinny" but rather a result of having a very specific bone structure. If you had the bone structure to allow for one you already would have one.

Thigh gaps in pictures are usually from standing a certain way, in all honesty.
